Well Drivers Drive Well Webinar - NRSPP |
|
|
Driving is the most dangerous task a worker will be asked to undertake. In fact, vehicle use in road traffic is by far the most significant contributor to work-related traumatic injury, with two-thirds of worker traumatic injury fatalities in the past 20 years involving a vehicle, and half of those occurring on a public road. While ‘wellness’ has become something of a buzzword, there is a well-established link between driver wellness and driving well, and taking simple steps to improve the wellness of professional drivers will drive road safety and wider benefits for them, their employers, and the whole community.
This webinar brings together industry experts from Innovation Group and Zurich Insurance who see the value and importance of this link in their job daily as they work with their clients. The safety of the worker on the road is dependent upon their employer and their attitudes to workplace road safety, performance measures, and risk management. Host: National Road Safety Partnership Program - NRSPP

Changes to the NSW Livestock Loading Scheme |
To continue as a New South Wales Livestock Loading Scheme (NSWLLS) driver, you now must re-accredit every five years. This is to ensure that driver knowledge is current and to reduce the incidence of livestock vehicle rollovers. Re-accrediting requires drivers to complete an assessment with an accredited NSWLLS assessor.
What does this mean for you? All NSWLLS drivers certified prior to March 2021 need to re-accredit before 6 November 2023 otherwise your NSWLLS Driver Card will be cancelled.
Drivers without a current NSWLLS driver card cannot carry the additional weights allowed by the NSW Class 3 Livestock Transportation Exemption Notice 2021.
Effective 6 November 2023:
A NSWLLS Driver card without a printed expiry date will be considered expired.
Next steps: If you don’t have an expiry date on your NSWLLS Driver Card and want to continue as a NSWLLS driver, you need to book an assessment with a NSWLLS assessor as soon as possible.
For a list of assessors visit the NSWLLS Driver Learning and Assessment website: NSWLLS Driver Course | Transport for NSW |
