Register Now for First on Scene Incident Response - Toolbox Training Resources |
|
|
The complement face-to-face training sessions, and to ensure that more drivers can receive the training, the QTA are developing Toolbox Talk Presentation which can be delivered from the Depot. This practical session will be designed to provide drivers with the top safety tips when arriving first on scene.
A concise Glovebox Guide is also part of the resource package which will be available to all drivers who participate in the Toolbox Talk Sessions.
We are pleased to be rolling out this training to support our heavy vehicle drivers and we want to ensure that more drivers can do the training. The training sessions attended by drivers so far indicate there is a high volume of drivers who have been first on scene at least three or more times. This reinforces the importance of this First on Scene training and the development of the Toolbox Talk presentation resource. Ensuring that a driver’s immediate safety is looked after in these circumstances is of paramount importance and well considered in the training material. Post-incident support is another vitally important component that is covered.
We are also encouraging drivers who have had experience being first on scene to participate in the research being conducted for the project. Senior Lecturer, Dr Darren Wishart has a wealth of experience conducting road safety research projects and is keen to talk with drivers who will share their experiences. Dr Darren Wishart can be contacted via 07 3735 1206 | d.wishart@griffith.edu.au
Further face-to-face training sessions are scheduled for delivery on the Gold Coast (30 August) and Townsville (16 & 17th October). Bookings can be made through https://www.qta.com.au/events
To express interest in receiving the First on Scene Toolbox Talk Presentation, please complete the EOI form. |

How an Effective Business Risk Management Framework Improves your Insurance |
| |
|
Most businesses have some form of risk management framework, but how do they measure up? An effective risk management framework should help you understand your risks, give you confidence in how effectively you control those risks and enable increased assurance that you will achieve your objectives.
Business insurance options and pricing can be optimised by an effective risk management framework which demonstrates how a business is proactively and productively addressing their business risks and exposures, which in turn helps to gain cover from insurers. This is especially valuable for business insurance buyers experiencing the challenging reality of a hard market where insurer cover, terms and available options are constrained and more expensive.
Gallagher works closely with ABM Risk Partnership, a specialist provider of risk management services, and together we have supported many clients in achieving excellent results, including one client halving their insurance spend while expanding coverage across all classes of cover. This was built off the back of a commitment to increasing risk management maturity, and a carefully developed and executed engagement with underwriters.

5 Reasons Why your Small Business Needs to Consider Cyber Insurance |
Uptake of cyber insurance by small businesses in Australia is still alarmingly low. The reality is that your business is highly likely to experience a cyber security incident, such as a data breach, a hacking incident or a phishing attack which involves being tricked into clicking a malicious link or file, or unknowingly giving access to sensitive financial accounts or client information.
Don't make the mistake of thinking that cyber criminals target only larger organisations — small businesses can hold valuable information, conduct expensive transactions and may be easily targeted by criminals using sophisticated software developed to penetrate computer systems. As small businesses are less likely to have the technology and security defences that a large business would, without strong cyber risk management strategies and insurance policies in place a cyber attack could seriously threaten your business financial viability.
Here are 5 simple reasons why small businesses need to give thought to obtaining cyber insurance. Read full article |
