Road Conditions SEQ: Gateway Arterial Motorway Flyover - Bald Hills

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises of upcoming restricted travel conditions on the Gateway Arterial Motorway Flyover which may affect heavy vehicles.
These restrictions will apply to oversize overmass vehicles operating under period and route specific permits from Sunday 15 December to Tuesday 17 December 2024.
Vehicles operating under a period or route specific permit
Operators must comply with the current conditions in the Conditions of Operation Database and any conditions outlined in the permit issued by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).
Conditions of Operation Database
The current conditions of operation are available on the TMR website (www.tmr.qld.gov.au) under Business and Industry, Heavy vehicles, Queensland excess mass and dimension conditions, Conditions of Operation Database.
Search by road name ‘GATEWAY’ and select road ‘U13C’.
The following vehicles have UNRESTRICTED access:
- Heavy vehicle with GCM greater than 4.5 tonnes and up to 68.5 tonnes including buses, prime mover semi-trailers and b-doubles travelling at Higher Mass Limits with a total vehicle or trailer width no greater than 2.5 metres.
The following vehicles have RESTRICTED access:
- Class 1 OSOM platform trailer combinations exceeding 59.5 tonnes will not be able to straddle the centreline during works in accordance with the prevailing conditions. Any heavy vehicle and/or trailer combination that is greater than 2.5 metres wide will have restricted access.
Please note that these restrictions may lead to considerable travel delays for those affected vehicles and operators should plan accordingly.
In cases where heavy vehicles arrive on site and meet the criteria for restricted access, such vehicles will be told to hold and remain there until current activities have concluded.
