TRAFFIC ALERT - Steve Irwin Way closure and detours (5-7 September)

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) would like to advise that a section of Steve Irwin Way will be closed for three nights from 5 to 7 September 2022, weather and construction conditions permitting.

The road will be closed between Irwin Road (north) and Foley Road (south) between 7:30pm and 4:30am and will reopen to traffic during the day.

The closure is part of ongoing construction works for the Steve Irwin Way (Beerwah to Landsborough) safety improvements project.

During the closure, traffic will be diverted as follows:

• Local motorists will be detoured along Old Landsborough Road.
• Heavy vehicles will be detoured along the M1 Bruce Highway.

Local access to properties along Steve Irwin Way will be maintained at all times.

Speed restrictions will be in place. TMR reminds motorists to follow roadwork signage and to drive to the conditions at all times.
