Sydney Gateway Opening

Sydney Gateway is targeting an open date from 1 September 2024. The final stage of the project is the connection to the wider motorway network at St Peters Interchange.

Since November 2023, the project has opened in stages, including the Deborah Lawrie Flyover into the Domestic Terminals, and two Twin Arch Bridges near the International Terminal. Opening has been staged to reduce impacts to road users.

The website will continue to be updated with the latest information relating to Sydney Gateway opening.

Sydney Gateway will provide the option for trucks to by-pass local Mascot streets and use high-capacity road network via St Peters Interchange (from M8 and from M4-M8 Link tunnels) and widened Qantas Drive.

The Deborah Lawrie Flyover separates trucks travelling to Port Botany from vehicles accessing the Domestic Terminals while dedicated freight access into the international terminal has been maintained via Link Road, improving traffic movements.
