Road Conditions Update-NSW-West Connex Tunnel - Speed limiit inc. to 90km/hour frm 20/4/24

Update from Transport for NSW 12/4/24

Speed limits in the WestConnex Motorway’s 24-kilometre tunnel network will increase from 80km/h to 90km/h on 20 April 2024.

The speed limit in the WestConnex tunnels will increase to 90km/h as the NSW Government focuses on getting motorists around Sydney in the safest, most efficient way possible and saving people time.

The 90km/h speed limit will apply to the network from Homebush Bay Drive, Homebush to King Georges Road, Beverly Hills and includes the M4 East, M8 and M4-M8 Link motorways. The speed limits for Rozelle Interchange and M5 East Motorway will remain unchanged.

The change is underpinned by a comprehensive safety and systems review by Transport for NSW post the opening of Rozelle Interchange, the final piece of WestConnex. It is important to note that variable speed limits will still apply in the WestConnex motorway network, including at the Rozelle and St Peters interchanges and motorists should always observe the posted speed limit.

All of the on and off ramps in the network will remain at 60km/h, with the exception of Homebush Bay Drive which has recently increased to 70km/h.
