Source: Transport for NSW (22/11/2024)
There will be changed traffic conditions for heavy vehicles on the Warringah Freeway and temporary closures of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions will be in place on the Warringah Freeway:
- 10pm Friday 22 November to mid-2025: Alfred Street southbound off ramp closure. The recommended detour for motorists driving to North Sydney, Kirribilli and Neutral Bay is via Pacific Highway (un-tolled). An alternative route is to exit on the Falcon Street off ramp, but please be aware this option will incur a toll.
- 9.30pm Friday 22 to 6pm Sunday 24 November: Mount Street eastern on ramp to Cahill Expressway closure. Motorists travelling from High Street or Mount Street to the Cahill Expressway will need to use the on ramp from Mount Street to the Bradfield Highway instead and detour through the CBD, via the Grosvenor Street exit, Bridge Street and Macquarie Street to the Eastern Distributor.
The Miller Sreet southbound on ramp continues to be closed until mid-December 2024, 10am to 6pm weekdays. Motorists are advised to use either the Ernest or Falcon Street on ramps. Please note the on ramps may also be closed on some nights.Operators should check signage and follow the detour.
Temporary closure of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel will be in place on the following days and times:
Southbound
- 10.30pm Tuesday 26 to 5am Wednesday 27 November
Northbound
- 10.30pm Tuesday 26 to 5am Wednesday 27 November
- 10.30pm Thursday 28 to 5am Friday 29 November
The Sydney Harbour Bridge will remain open at all times. However, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is not open to Restricted Access Vehicles (RAV). Operators of Class 1, 2 and 3 vehicles travelling under a Notice must consult their relevant enforceable network map to confirm a suitable approved alternative route.
Vehicles travelling under a permit must not travel off the approved route listed in their permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).
