Road Conditions FNQ: Mulligan Highway and Bilwon Road intersection upgrade (25/11-13/12)

Works are progressing for the installation of turning lanes at the Mulligan Highway (Mareeba – Mt Molloy) and Bilwon Road intersection to improve safety.
As part of the final stages of the intersection upgrade, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will temporarily close the section of Bilwon Road at the Mulligan Highway intersection from 25 November 2024 - 13 December 2024, weather and construction conditions permitting. This temporary closure is necessary to assist crews in completing key construction activities before Christmas.
Road users are advised to use alternate routes and should plan their journeys accordingly.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place on the approaches to the work site to ensure motorists are aware of the changed traffic conditions. Changes in dates will be posted on the VMS.
The works are expected to be completed in mid-January 2025, weather and construction conditions permitting.
