Road Conditions CQ - Bruce Highway Closure | Gin Gin and Calliope detours

The Department of Transport and Main Roads advises that due to a major incident on the Bruce Highway north of Bororen the Bruce Highway is closed from Gin Gin to Calliope.
The following detours are in place (see map):
Heavy Vehicles detour:
- Booyal-Dallarnil Road north of Childers
- Booyal-Dallarnil towards Biggenden (Isis Highway) towards Ban Ban Springs
- Ban Ban Springs to Biloela via Burnett Highway
- Biloela to Calliope via Dawson Highway
Light Vehicles detour:
- North of Gin-Gin at Gin-Gin–Mount Perry Rd towards Mount Perry
- Mount Perry to Monto via Monto–Mt Perry Road (at Burnett Highway)
- Monto to Biloela via Burnett Highway
- Biloela to Calliope via Dawson Highway
Variable Message Boards and detour signage will be in place to direct traffic on affected roads.
Heavy Vehicle operators are requested to check the Conditions of Operations Database before you start your journey.
For the safety of the public there is also a total exclusion zone in place from Tannum Sands Road to Bororen.
Local traffic is permitted within the Bruce Highway closure however, NO traffic is permitted in the exclusion zone.
At this stage it is expected there will be significant delays and we appreciate the patience of motorist during this time.
Motorists are reminded to observe all warning signs, speed restrictions, detours and traffic control directions in place.
