NSW: Changed traffic conditions in Sydney CBD for Australia Day

Changed traffic conditions will be in place on Sunday 26 January with major roads closed in the Sydney CBD for Australia Day events. 

  • Key roads in Circular Quay, The Rocks and Milsons Point around the harbour will close in the morning and evening between 4am to midnight
  • The Cahill Expressway including lanes 4, 7 and 8 on the Harbour Bridge and the Circular Quay overpass will be closed in both directions from 7.30pm to 10.30pm
  • Cahill Expressway High and Mount Street on-ramps from North Sydney and Kirribilli will be closed.

During this time, Oversize and Overmass (OSOM) vehicles are advised to use use the Western Distributor for access to and from the city.

Warringah Freeway upgrade works continue over the Australia Day long weekend, including southbound lane and ramp closures. 

Operators are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
