FNQ: Vic Sivyer bridge, South Johnstone Road, 8 January to 16 January 2025 and 20 January to 26 January 2025

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be carrying out works on the Vic Sivyer bridge on South Johnstone Road

The works will involve replacement of key structural components and are a part of TMR’s regular bridge rehabilitation program to ensure the continued safety and reliability of bridges on the state-controlled road network.

The works will require intermittent full bridge closures from Wednesday 8 January to Thursday 16 January 2025 and Monday 20 January to Sunday 26 January 2025, weather and construction conditions permitting. Crews will be on site from 6am to 6pm.

The closures will be at the following times:

Closed            7:30am – 11:30am

Open               11:30am – 12:30pm

Closed            12:30pm – 4.30pm

Open               4.30pm onwards

Timeframes may be subject to change depending on construction constraints and weather conditions.

Road users are advised to use alternate routes during the closure times and should plan their journeys accordingly.

Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place in key locations that will allow motorists the opportunity to take an alternate route. Changes in dates will be posted on the VMS.
