Wide Bay / Burnett: Kennedy Bridge, Bundaberg temporary closures for servicing and inspections

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has programmed inspection and servicing works on the Kennedy Bridge in Bundaberg.

During the works the Kennedy Bridge will be temporarily closed.

The closure will take place on Sunday 23 February 2025 from 6am to 6pm.

During the closure, a detour route via Walla Street and George Street / Princess Street will be signposted to assist motorists with the changed conditions.

Heavy vehicles will be guided via Hinkler Avenue over the Tallon Bridge, Takalvan Street, Walker Street and the Ring Road towards Bargara Road.

Pedestrian access across the bridge will remain available while the works are underway.

Road users should allow additional time for their journey while the closure is in place. We thank motorists and nearby businesses for their ongoing patience.

The bridge service is routine and is required to maintain the structural integrity of the bridge.
