SWQ: Warrego Highway (Mitchell-Morven) Access Changes to Morven Heavy Vehicle Rest Area and the Morven Roadhouse
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be implementing temporary changed access conditions at the Morven Heavy Vehicle Rest Area and the Morven Roadhouse as part of the rehabilitation works on the Warrego Highway (Mitchell - Morven) between 87.5km to 88.3km east of Morven.
These temporary changes will be in place from about 1 March 2025 to 1 August 2025.
The changed access conditions will impact all motorists and heavy vehicle operators as TMR will be closing the Heavy Vehicle Rest Area opposite the roadhouse, while the westbound lane of the highway is rehabilitated. Access to and parking at the roadhouse will then be limited while the eastbound lane is rehabilitated.
We would like to assure you that access to the fuel bowsers for all vehicles and customer access to the roadhouse will be maintained throughout construction. However, parking availability for all vehicles will be reduced.
We will try to minimise traffic delays as much as possible by using detours, single lane closures, traffic control and speed restrictions. Motorists should slow down, drive carefully and follow the instructions of traffic controllers and construction signage and allow up to an additional 15 minutes for their journey.
Works may restrict wide-load vehicle access and permit holders should check the TMR Conditions of Operation Database before travelling.
