Road Conditions Update-SCoast-Bruce Highway, near Parklands, Rosemount and Federal-Repair Works from July
TMR contractor will soon start landslip repair works at two sites on the Bruce Highway, with a third site in the design phase.
These repairs are being undertaken as part of a broader program of rectification work to repair more than 200 batter slope/embankment sites across North Coast Region damaged by the 2022 flooding and rain events.
Site one is located on the northbound shoulder of the Bruce Highway, just after the Nambour Connection Road off ramp (Exit 210), Parklands.
Site two is located on the southbound shoulder of the Bruce Highway, approximately 450 metres south of the Andreasens Road underpass, Rosemount.
Works for sites one and two are scheduled to commence early July 2024 and be completed by the end of August 2024, weather and construction scheduling permitting
Site three requires significant slope stabilisation and is located on the northbound shoulder of the Bruce Highway, near the Gardners Road underpass, Federal.
The design for site three is expected to be finalised mid-2024, with works expected to start shortly after.
All three work sites involve slope stabilisation adjacent to live traffic lanes. Traffic controllers, reduced speed limits, road signage and variable message signs will be in place to advise of the changed traffic conditions and to ensure motorist and road worker safety.
Where works require single-lane or shoulder closures, these will be limited to night works to minimise the disruption to traffic.
The recovery works are jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
