Road Conditions Update-FNQ-Hann Rvr Br& Hann Rvr Overflow Br, Peninsula Developmental Rd from 8/7/24
TMR will be carrying out works on the Hann River Bridge and Hann River Overflow Bridge, north of Laura on the Peninsula Developmental Road.
The works will involve replacement of key structural components and are part of TMR’s regular bridge and culvert rehabilitation program to ensure the continued safety and reliability of bridges and culverts on the state-controlled road network.
Construction and improvement of side tracks at both sites will start on Monday 8 July 2024.
Works will follow on Monday 12 August 2024 and take about six weeks to complete, weather and construction conditions permitting. Crews will be onsite between 6 am and 6 pm on a 14-day rotational roster consisting of eleven days on and three days off.
For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place including speed limit reductions and temporary single lane side tracks, under the coordination of traffic lights. Road users should plan their travel accordingly.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place on the approaches to the work sites to ensure motorists are aware of the changed traffic conditions.
