Road Conditions Update-FNQ-Cairns-Mareeba-Kennedy Hwy, Kuranda Range 4-7/1/24

Nightworks - Kennedy Highway (Cairns-Mareeba) - Kuranda Range 4-7/1/24

The works will involve temporary full closure of the Kuranda Range from Thursday 4 to Sunday morning 7 January 2024 from 9 pm to 4 am each day.

The Kuranda Range will be reopened to traffic each day from 4 am.

The temporary full closures will end at 4 am on Sunday morning 7 January 2024. Following the works, Kuranda Range Road will remain single lane at various locations until further works can be carried out.

TMR has arrangements in place to provide emergency access if required.

The works are part of our recovery following Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper and will repair and restore sections of the road to help maintain access during this current wet season.

Changes in dates due to poor weather will be posted on the Variable Message Signs. Motorists are encouraged to check www.QLDTraffic.qld.gov.au website for up-to-date road conditions and plan their journey accordingly.
