Road Conditions Update: North Brisbane - Linkfield Road overpass – safety repair works

Linkfield Road overpass – safety repair works

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises that safety repair works for the Linkfield Road overpass in Bald Hills are underway. The works include repairs to the damaged bridge girders and will support the reopening of the overpass for heavy vehicle operators.

As part of the repairs, TMR will be undertaking concrete pours which will necessitate a full closure of the overpass on the night of 13 August 2023.

Works include:

·          Repairs to damage underneath the overpass.

Timing:

·          Works are expected to be completed by late August 2023, construction and weather conditions permitting.

·          To facilitate the concrete placement, a full closure of the overpass will be required from 6pm Sunday 13 August to 5am Monday 14 August 2023.

·          Night works are required for road user safety, and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network.

What to expect:

  • Closure of the Linkfield Road overpass and offramp to all traffic during working hours, with vehicles accessing Linkfield Road through Beams Road.
  • Closure of the left lane southbound on Gympie Arterial Road during working hours.
  • Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of road signage and traffic controllers.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect to experience short-term impacts including increased noise, dust, and odour during the works.

Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds.
