Update from the Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD - 25/03/2024
Minor works will commence on Bremer River Bridge (westbound) nightly from Monday 25 March until mid 2024.
Work will take place from Sunday to Thursday between 8.30pm and 5am.
What to expect:
- On site traffic controlles and single lane closures of the westbound carriageway between 8.30pm and 5am
Heavy vehicle operators travelling during these closure periods must follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
Operators must queue on Warrego Highway and follow instructions of traffic control.
Operating Conditions
Eligible vehicles can access the cross-over provided a copy of the approved temporary varitation letter - Bremer River Bridge Restriction is used in conjunction with your current permit. If you do not have a current permit, please apply through the NHVR Portal for access for the cross-over.
Vehicles exceeding these mass requirements or that exceed 10m in width may apply through the NHVR Portal for further assessment.
Operators are responsible for booking QPS escorts. Operators without an approved permit, variation letter and confirmed QPS booking, will not be permitted to travel.
Travel will be permitted on the cross-over under TMR traffic control arrangements between 11pm and 4am every night, subject to QPS resourcing and availability.
Operators are required to remain on Warrego Highway (westbound lanes) and follow the guidance of traffic management.
Operators must contact RoadTek on 0448 396 514 (or 0409 962 177) to advise the approximate time of arrival.
Alternate Route
Vehicles exceeding 42.5 tonnes and up to 7.5m wide and/or 60m long and/or 6.2m high
- May travel via Cunninghams Gap as an alternate route to the Warrego Highway
- You must have a current permit for the Cunningham Highway
- You must email traffic.cunninghamsgap@mcilwain.com three days prior to travel to notify the project team of your intention to travel through the work site
You must contact the project team on channel UHF45 if you require assistance to travel through the site.
