Road Conditions: Rail Maintenance to impact Russell Park Road (Gemini Mountains, Qld 4721)
Information from Aurizon - Track Maintenance – Goonyella Rail System
Please be advised Aurizon will soon commence a level crossing renewal along the Goonyella Rail System, between Mt. McLaren and Blackridge (61.902km).
Please see below the planned work schedule (weather permitting):
- Preparation works will be undertaken between Tuesday, 31 October 2023 and Monday, 13 November 2023 (intermittent day shift only).
- Closure works will be undertaken between 0600 hours on Tuesday, 14 November 2023 and 1800 hours on Thursday, 16 November 2023, inclusive of night works.
- During this time, Russell Park Road (Gemini Mountains QLD 4721) at public level crossing ID#5841 will be closed and impassable.
- For vehicles up to AB-triple road trains (36.5m long, 2.5m wide and 4.3m high), an on-site diversion will be available via occupational level crossing ID#5842. Please refer to the below image.
- For vehicles greater than AB-triple road trains (36.5m long, 2.5m wide and 4.3m high), please follow road-side signage for a detour via Kenlogan Road and Peak Downs Highway.
- During this time, Russell Park Road (Gemini Mountains QLD 4721) at public level crossing ID#5841 will be closed and impassable.
- Finalisation works will be undertaken between Saturday, 18 November 2023 and Thursday, 30 November 2023 (intermittent day shift only).
Measures will be in place to minimise noise, dust, and lighting where necessary. Aurizon will endeavour to make every reasonable effort to minimise these disruptions. Aurizon apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks you for your patience.
