Road Conditions: QLD Christmas and New Year restrictions for oversize vehicles

Please be advised that during the Christmas and New Year period, the following restrictions apply to an oversize vehicle or combination:

  • An oversize vehicle or combination movements which require more than one pilot or escort vehicle is not permitted to travel from 12.01am Tuesday 19 December 2023 until 11.59pm Tuesday 2 January 2024.

  • An oversize vehicle or combination is not permitted to travel from 12 noon Friday 22 December 2023 until 11.59pm Tuesday 2 January 2024.

Derestrictions in the Queensland Access Conditions Guide apply to:

  • Schedule 1 - Special Purpose Vehicles

Note: A SPV operating under a permit (up to 3.5m in width) that references the Queensland Access Conditions Guide or the National Class 1 Special Purpose Vehicle (up to 40t total mass) Mass and Dimension Exemption Notice is exempt from the Christmas New Year restrictions.

  •  Schedule 3 – Oversize load carrying vehicles (operating within the Cooper Basin)

  • Schedule 3 - Special purpose combinations (operating within the Cooper Basin)
  • Schedule 4 - Agricultural vehicles and combinations
  • Schedule 5 - Port of Brisbane precinct

Schedule 6 - Conditionally registered vehicles (travelling to or from unplanned repairs to public utilities, natural disasters and other emergencies)
