Road Conditions NSW: Changed traffic conditions on the Warringah Freeway and temporary closures of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel

There will be changed traffic conditions for heavy vehicles on the Warringah Freeway and temporary closures of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, weather permitting. 

Changed traffic conditions in place on the Warringah Freeway:

  • The Alfred Street southbound on ramp is now temporarily closed until mid-2025. Motorists driving to North Sydney, Kirribilli and Neutral Bay are advised to use the un-tolled route via Pacific Highway or alternatively exit via the Falcon Street off ramp which is a tolled route
  • The Miller Sreet southbound on ramp continues to be temporarily closed until mid-December 202410am to 6pm weekdays. Motorists are advised to use either the Ernest or Falcon Street on ramps. Please note the on ramps may also be closed on some nights.Operators should check signage and follow the detour.

Temporary closure of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel will be in place on the following days and times:

Southbound

  • 11.30pm Saturday 30 November to 6am Sunday 1 December
  • 10.30pm Tuesday 3 to 5am Wednesday 4 December

The Sydney Harbour Bridge will remain open at all times. However, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is not open to Restricted Access Vehicles (RAV). Operators of Class 1, 2 and 3 vehicles travelling under a Notice must consult their relevant enforceable network map to confirm a suitable approved alternative route.

Vehicles travelling under a permit must not travel off the approved route listed in their permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).
