Road conditions: Newell Highway detour between West Wyalong to Forbes

From 5:00pm Tuesday 29 November a revised detour between West Wyalong to Forbes will be in place, continuing up until Monday 9 January 2023. 

Detour

A detour will be in place for all vehicles up to and including PBS 2B Tier 1 and 36.5m Road Trains. 

• Northbound from West Wyalong to Forbes: Mid Western Hwy, Henry Lawson Way, Lachlan Valley Way, Wongajong Rd, Red Bend Rd, Wirrinya Rd
• Southbound from Forbes to West Wyalong: Wirrinya Rd, Red Bend Rd, Wongajong Rd, Lachlan Valley Way, Henry Lawson Way, Mid Western Hwy

Prescriptive Road trains are restricted to the lesser of the posted speed sign or 80km/h when travelling on Henry Lawson Way.

• PBS 2B Tier 3 complying with the National Class Two Performance Based Standards (Higher Productivity) Authorisation Notice 2022 have temporary approval to cross the Caragabal Level Crossing and must review the approved routes on the PBS Map for further travel.   
• Class 1 OSOM Load Carrying Vehicles operating under the Class Multi State Load Carrying Mass or Dimension Exemption Notice must comply with routes on the approved OSOM map.
