Road Conditions FNQ: Maitland Road Cane Rail Overpass, Bruce Highway, 16 December to 19 December 2024

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be carrying out bridge inspections on the Maitland Road Cane Rail Overpass on the Bruce Highway, Gordonvale.

Bridge inspections are regularly carried out to ensure the continued safety and reliability of bridges on the state-controlled road network.

The inspection will require temporary single lane closures from Monday 16 December to Thursday 19 December 2024, weather and construction conditions permitting. Crews will be on site between 6am to 6pm.

The single lane closures will be at the following times:
Southbound lane: 7am to 12pm
Northbound lane: 12pm to 6pm

Timeframes may be subject to change depending on construction constraints and weather conditions.

For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place including speed limit reductions and temporary single lane closures under coordination of traffic controllers while the works are carried out. Road users should plan their travel accordingly.

Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place to advise motorists of the changed traffic conditions. Changes in dates will be posted on the VMS.
