Road Conditions FNQ: Bruce Highway and Thomson Road, Edmonton
Source: Department of Transport and Main Roads
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be carrying out line marking work on the Bruce Highway and Thomson Road intersection, Edmonton.
The works will involve updating the road line marking to improve the safety and travelling conditions for road users.
The works will be carried out at night to reduce the impact on road users. Crews will be onsite between 6 pm and 6 am from Sunday 29 September 2024. Works are expected to be completed in 5 days, weather and construction conditions permitting.
At the start of works, high pressure water blasting on the road surface will be carried out to remove inconsistent road markings. Nearby properties and businesses may experience noise associated with the works, such as the sound of trucks, light machinery and vibrations while the work is carried out. The contractor will take all reasonable and practical actions to minimise impacts.
For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place including temporary speed limit reductions, and single lane operation under coordination of traffic controllers and/or traffic signals while the works are carried out. Road users should plan their journeys accordingly.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place on the approaches to the work site to ensure motorists are aware of the changed traffic conditions. Changes in dates due to poor weather will be posted on the VMS.
