Revising current Class 1 Heavy Vehicle Access in Queensland - Industry Webinar
The Department of Transport and Main Roads has formed a dedicated project team to develop a new Class 1 heavy vehicle access regime. The project team is identifying necessary changes and will work with industry to optimise the opportunities.
Class 1 heavy vehicles include low loaders, load platforms and Special Purpose Vehicles, and they represent the highest risk to structures because of their higher mass and configuration.
With a focus on this risk, and the critical role these vehicles play in the Queensland economy, the project will work with industry to deliver:
- Industry access to the network in a safe and sustainable way
- Improved systems and processes for managing Class 1 heavy vehicle access
- Increased transparency and certainty about access
- Better supported decision making by the road asset owner.
The department will be holding an industry webinar to introduce the project and to give some insight to why this work is so critical. We would like to invite you and your colleagues to attend.
