Queensland's Transition to TMA and Smart OBA
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) currently require Telematics monitoring as a condition of Heavy Vehicle Access to the state road network for specified vehicles, utilising the Intelligent Access Program (IAP), and the Queensland Interim On-Board Mass (OBM) program, both of which have been in place since 2009 and 2010 respectively.
With newer technology available TMR has decided to advance expansion of telematics in Queensland, to continue to meet the operational requirements for the access needs of industry, as well as the evolving data needs of TMR as a Road Manager.
TMR have advised that from 1 December 2022, transition will commence.
