NSW Traffic Alert: Changed traffic conditions at the Ernest Street Interchange on the Warringah Freeway

Source: Transport for NSW (18.02.25)

There will be two permanent changes at the northbound off ramp to Ernest Street on the Warringah Freeway from 6am Saturday 22 February.

These include:

  • The Ernest Street northbound off ramp, which currently switches to a southbound on ramp during weekday morning peak hours, will become a permanent northbound off ramp at all times.

Previously, to get onto the Ernest Street northbound off ramp, motorists needed to be in the inner lanes of the freeway.

  • Motorists will need to be in the outer lanes of the freeway to use the off ramp. Access to this off ramp will also change from the inner northbound lanes to the outer northbound lanes of the freeway

The decision point for accessing the Ernest Street northbound off ramp from the Sydney Harbour Bridge will be earlier. Motorists will need to use lanes 2 or 3 on the Sydney Harbour Bridge to get into the northbound outer lanes for the Ernest Street off ramp.
