NSW: Night closures of Spirit of Progress Bridge at Albury - AMENDED

There will be changed traffic conditions for Oversize and Overmass (OSOM) vehicles northbound on the Hume Highway at the Spirit of Progress bridge between Albury and Wodonga.

The Spirit of Progress bridge will be closed between 8pm to 5.30am on the following days:

  • Monday 24 February to Saturday 1 March
  • Monday 3 March to Saturday 8 March

OSOM vehicles will be detoured via High Street, Lincoln Causeway, Wodonga Place, Hume Street and Atkins Street, returning to the Hume Highway on the East Street ramp.  

Single-lane closures will also be in place outside of work hours southbound on the bridge, vehicles wider than 4.5m should contact UHF 13 on approach.

 

Please note:

Unless specified otherwise, operators of Class 1,2 & 3 vehicles travelling under a Notice must consult their relevant enforceable network map to confirm a suitable approved alternate route. 

Temporary variation for permit holders who travel northbound over Spirit of Progress Bridge

Current heavy vehicle access permit holders with route-specific access that includes northbound travel over Spirt of Progress Bridge, Hume Highway, and Albury and are impacted by this closure would be required to utilise this detour.

A copy of this variation letter must be carried along with the permit and produced to an authorised officer upon request. The variation letter is applicable to the following vehicle combinations: 

  • HML 25/26m B-Double combinations 
  • PBS Level 2B combinations 
  • PBS Level 3A combinations
  • HML PBS Level 2A combinations

Other restricted access heavy vehicles operating under a heavy vehicle access permit must not travel off the approved route listed in their permit. An updated permit must be obtained from the NHVR.
