Last week, the Government held their first Jobs and Skills Summit, an election commitment to bring together unions and employers. Several announcements were made during the summit, with work to begin immediately on some, while other resolutions aren’t expected to progress much until 2023. The following is a summary of the key resolutions that are expected to affect the road freight industry and the existing commitments that interact with those commitments.
