FNQ-Bridge servicing works: McLeod River bridge on Mulligan Highway

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be servicing McLeod River bridge on the Mulligan Highway between Mt Molloy and Lakeland as part of maintenance works.

Bridge servicing is regularly carried out to ensure the continued safety and reliability of bridges on the state-controlled road network.

The servicing works will require intermittent full bridge closures from Monday 29 August – Thursday 1 September 2022 between 7 am and 4 pm. The bridge will be closed for one-hour periods with 15-minute openings during the following times:

Closed        8.00am-9.00am         Open              9.00am-9.15am

Closed        9.15am-10.15am       Open              10.15am-10.30am

Closed        10.30am-11.30am     Open              11.30am-11.45am

Closed        11.45am-12.45pm     Open              12.45pm-1.00pm

Closed        1.00pm-2.00pm        Open              2.00pm-2.15pm

Closed        2.15pm-3.00pm        Open              3.00pm onwards

Timeframes may be subject to change depending on weather conditions.

TMR has arrangement in place to provide emergency access if required.

For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place including temporary full closures under coordination of traffic controllers while the works are carried out. Road users should plan their travel accordingly. 

Variable Message Signs will be in place prior to the closures to allow motorists ample opportunity to plan their travel.
