Crane truck driver wins adverse action claim after dismissal for refusing unsafe work
In Queensland, workers have the right to cease, or refuse to carry out, work if they have a reasonable concern that to carry out the work would expose them to a serious risk to their health or safety. In a recent case, an employer and it’s Director learned a $25K+ lesson about what to expect if you were to dismiss an employee for exercising this right.
